Christie and its parent company Ushio have jointly announced the appointment of Koji Naito as the AV specialist’s new chairman and CEO.
Part of Ushio for nearly four decades and currently the company’s president and CEO, Naito has been tasked with aligning Ushio and Christie’s management, business strategies, and philosophies.
According to Christie, Naito places “significant emphasis on understanding customers’ needs and taking further action to achieve global sustainability practices”. He will also support the company’s mission to “promote the use of light as illumination and energy to support human well-being and societal growth”.
Overseeing both companies as of April 1, Naito succeeds Hideaki Onishi, who is transitioning into the role of Christie’s new president and COO. Additionally, Atsushi Kuroda, formerly of Sharp NEC Display Solutions and currently senior director of Christie’s Strategy Office, has been appointed chief technology officer and chief strategy officer.
“Constant innovation and deep core values, while making a difference in the communities we serve, are paramount to Ushio’s vision to a sustainable future for everyone,” said Naito.
“I’m pleased and honoured to lead Christie into the future with a strong executive management team who shares Ushio’s mission and vision.”
