Paul Kent to lead global business development at Mad Systems

Industry veteran Paul Kent has been named as VP of global business development at Mad Systems

Kent has more than 30 years experience in the themed entertainment industry

Attractions industry veteran Paul Kent has been named vice president of global business development at Mad Systems, a systems and audio-visual design and integration firm specialising in interactive exhibits for museums, travelling exhibitions and theme parks.

Bringing a wealth of experience from a 30-year career working in themed entertainment, in his new role, Kent will represent Mad Systems from his base in the UK and be responsible for driving the company’s growth in international markets.

“I’m incredibly excited to join Mad Systems and their world-beating team of designers and technologists,” said Kent, speaking to Planet Attractions. “They’re technologists with a great client-first attitude, listening to clients and then designing systems that fit their needs. With all of the team in the head office it's going to be a great kick-off week.”

Kent’s previous roles include a 20-year stint at audio-visual specialist Electrosonic and two years as a technical project manager at JRA. Most recently, he served as global business development manager for dynamic attractions specialist Simworx.

Kent has also worked in design, consulting and site management for a number of industry sectors and currently serves as both VP of the EME Division Board for the TEA and as a member of IAAPA’s Manufacturers and Suppliers EMEA Subcommittee.

“Things are changing in a very positive way for the AV industry, the themed entertainment industry and for Mad,” said Mad Systems owner Tricia Rodriguez.

“We always strive to be ahead of the curve, and having Paul on our team will help us with that goal. We’re very excited to have him.”
