Opening date announced for Fun Spot America’s highly-anticipated ArieForce One coaster

Fun Spot America Atlanta’s hotly-anticipated RMC-manufactured ArieForce One is set to open later this month, with the major attraction representing the park’s largest-ever investment

A brand new attraction coming to Fun Spot America Atlanta has been given its opening date, with the Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) -manufactured ArieForce One set to open on March 31.

A major investment for the Fayetteville, Georgia-based theme park, the US$13m (€12.2m, £10.75m) steel coaster hybrid promises to be one of the most exhilarating additions in its history.

The ride - a first-of-its-kind coaster - stands 154ft (47m) tall and once open will send riders down a 3,400ft (1,000m) track, featuring a 146ft (45m) drop and four inversions. Reaching speeds of up to 64mph (103kmph), AireForce one is designed to replicate the feeling of being a pilot in a fighter jet. To achieve this, among its features are an 83-degree first drop, and the largest Zero-G stall in the country.

“ArieForce One is a dream, a wish, and a project that has been years in the making,” said John Arie Jr, president and CEO of Fun Spot America.

“For 25 years Fun Spot has been delivering safe, clean, fun to families of all ages. Now, we are ready to bring this incredible coaster to our Fun Spot America Atlanta guests. It’s already exciting coaster fans and thrill-seekers from all over the globe as they prepare to visit us to experience what it feels like to soar through the sky.”

The ride will also feature a themed queue line and is inspired by FunSpot founder John Arie Sr's childhood passion for aviation.
