Available for free, the Virtual Experience of Dale Chihuly: Glass in Bloom exhibition will allow visitors from all over the world to experience the works of the famous glass artist

A major exhibition by glass artist Dale Chihuly has gone digital, allowing visitors across the world to get a look at some of his unique works virtually.
Organised by creative experiential agency Hustle & Bustle with support from the Singapore Tourist Board, Dale Chihuly: Glass in Bloom was made up of 25 large-scale installations and a combination of 80 pedestal sculptures and two-dimensional works.
Coming to a close on October 3, the exhibition took place inside Singapore's tropical Gardens by the Bay, presenting visitors with an extensive collection of the artists most celebrated works.
Following its successful Singapore run, a virtual version of the exhibition has been launched to make Chihuly’s art more accessible for international audiences.
Available for free until December 31, the virtual experience allows users to choose a location within the attraction, such as the Serene Garden, Meadow or World of Plants, where they can then look at the individual artworks either on their screen or with the use of a virtual reality headset.
"Chihuly is a symbol of resilience, as portrayed in his mastery of the beautiful and delicate art of glassblowing,” said Michael Lee, CEO of Hustle & Bustle.
“We’re captivated by his life story, and view this momentous exhibition as an opportunity to share his inspirational story with the rest of Singapore, despite the challenges of putting together a show of this scale in the midst of a pandemic.
“When the world has come to a standstill during this pandemic period, Chihuly's works bring our focus back to nature. While the physical exhibition has ended, we hope to continue bringing joy and making art accessible to locals and international audiences alike with the introduction of this Virtual Experience component, who can immerse in and appreciate the stunning works of Chihuly.”
The exhibition became the first of its scale to be hosted at Gardens by the Bay, and the first garden in Asia to provide a setting for Chihuly’s works. The pieces, which measure up to 10 metres in height and weigh as much as 3600kg, were curated and designed to complement the spaces within the attraction’s Flower Dome, Cloud Forest and outdoor gardens.
