The Ghostbusters are making their way to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights this year with an all-new haunted house based on the latest instalment in the franchise - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.
Debuting at Universal Orlando resort on August 30 and at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 5, the haunted houses will bring the Ghostbusters IP to life, with iconic ghosts, creatures and characters from the series appearing in settings that combine horror and humour as in the films themselves.
In “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”, guests will see the Spengler family team up with the original Ghostbusters who are now at the helm of a top-secret research lab for their ghost-busting enterprise. With the discovery of a relic that has freed the vengeful spirit of Garraka, the team old and new join forces to protect New York and save the world from a second ice age.
Inside the haunted house, visitors will explore a number of settings, including Ray’s Occult Books shop, the Ghostbusters’ high-tech lab and containment facility, and the New York City sewer system.
“Fans will embark on this petrifying journey alongside the Ghostbusters, encountering iconic ghosts who slime and nefarious villains who are out for revenge – all while trying to escape an army of ghastly creatures bent on cracking bones and turning their veins into rivers of ice,” said a Universal release. “As they navigate their way through freezing and frightening conditions, the Ghostbusters will need their wit and humour to defend the city they love from a terror too chilling to believe.”
