French drone entertainment specialist Dronisos has broken the record for the largest drone show ever performed in Europe, with the company behind a nighttime spectacle at Disneyland Paris.
The show, in honour of Bastille Day, featured 1,495 drones coordinated with light effects, pyrotechnics and fountains in the sky above the Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Created in close collaboration with Disneyland Paris’s artistic teams, in addition to beloved Disney and Pixar characters, the drone show showcased France, with the country’s tricolour flag and nods to famous landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and the Moulin Rouge.
“Having collaborated with Disneyland Paris since 2018 and having performed nearly 1,000 shows with over 20,000 flight hours in the Parisian park’s sky, Dronisos is proud to continuously push the boundaries of creativity in the marvelous setting of Disneyland Paris, captivating an ever-growing audience,” said a Dronisos statement.
Dronisos president Jean-Dominique Lauwereins added: “The Bastille Day show, showcasing 1,500 drones, is the result of the powerful fusion between state-of-the-art technology and highly-advanced artistic direction.
“Together with the teams at Disneyland Paris, we share a common vision: using technology to create enchanting dreams and magical experiences. This project is a big success, and we express our gratitude to the Disneyland Paris teams for their trust and collaboration.”
