More than 100 Christie Inspire Series projectors have been installed at the new Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, delivering large-scale immersive visuals across its exhibition halls and supporting one of China’s most ambitious new science venues

More than 100 Christie Inspire Series 1DLP laser projectors have been installed across the new Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, creating large-scale visual experiences that support the venue’s mission to engage visitors with science and technology.
The museum, located in Shenzhen’s Guangming District, is themed around “Digital Civilisation” and designed with an architectural concept inspired by a spacecraft. It houses four permanent exhibition halls and more than 950 exhibits, over 80% of which are interactive. Since opening, the museum has attracted more than one million visitors in just three months.
The Inspire Series projectors have been integrated into a wide range of displays across the building. On level three, zones - including ‘Mysteries of Mind and Body’, ‘Digital Art’, and the ‘Communications Technology Pavilion’ - use immersive projection mapping and large-format displays. Highlights include Embracing Nature, a 15,200 x 4,000mm ultra-wide display, and the interactive Big Monster Projection, which allows visitors to engage with game-like environments.
Elsewhere, exhibits such as Geometry in Nature use projection to explore mathematical patterns in the natural world, while the Future Communications Theater uses multiple high-lumen projectors to deliver bright visuals even under ambient light.
On level five, the “Origins of the Universe” hall uses 24 Christie projectors to create experiences around themes including the birth of particles, black holes, and the vastness of space.
The project was delivered in collaboration with Jianye Display and Shanghai Qingying Digital Technology, who designed and integrated the systems across the museum’s exhibition halls.
Christie’s Inspire Series projectors deliver up to 10,100 lumens, WUXGA resolution and a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Their sealed optical engine design enables up to 20,000 hours of operation with minimal maintenance, making them well-suited for high-use cultural venues such as museums and science centres.
