Leading attractions operator Continuum has named Andrew Pawson as its new CEO.
With almost 40 years of experience in the visitor attractions industry, Pawson’s leadership is seen as instrumental in guiding the company through its next phase of growth. Previously serving as acting CEO, Pawson takes on the permanent role as the business continues to expand its attractions portfolio.
“Our teams are passionate about delivering unforgettable guest experiences, and I’m excited to continue to empower them to do just that,” said Pawson. “We have ambitious expansion plans and will be investing in innovative technologies to strengthen our position as the leader in story-driven experiences. This is what we do best."
As CEO, Pawson will oversee Continuum’s expanding portfolio, which includes well-known attractions such as The Real Mary King’s Close, recently named TripAdvisor’s “Best of the Best” UK Visitor Attraction for 2024, and Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth. The company also operates the Coronation Street Experience and Emmerdale Village Tour, in partnership with ITV.
Pawson’s appointment has been welcomed by Sue Garland-Worthington, chair of Continuum, who highlighted Pawson’s already significant impact during his time as acting CEO.
"Andrew’s leadership has already had a significant impact, and we are delighted to appoint him as CEO on a permanent basis," she said. "His deep industry expertise and commercial acumen will be invaluable as we continue to invest in a data-driven approach to guest engagement while enhancing our renowned human-led storytelling."
