A light show in Zhengzhou, China, recently went awry when hundreds of drones started literally raining from the sky in a reported sabotage of the event.
A number of videos posted on social media show the drones lining up for an intricate display - creating the name of a nearby shopping mall - before suddenly losing altitude. Some of the videos show onlookers jumping out of the way as the drones crash into the ground.
Around 200 drones were performing when the incident took place and while the exact reason for the incident is unconfirmed, the show’s organiser alleged to the police that a rival competitor was at fault, causing the drones to fall out of the sky by overwhelming their navigation systems using transmitters.
