The Magic City Theme Park in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, launched a first for the country on March 20 with the debut of the country’s first full-scale public aquarium.
Designed and supplied by Polin Aquariums, the new Magic Aquarium oceanarium covers 2,762sq m (29,730sq ft) and features 50 different aquatic exhibits.
The aquarium is divided into a number of zones, including Uzbekistan History, Jungle, Touch & Discover, Atlantic Cave, Odd Shape Mariners, Pier, Shipwreck, Shark Hall, Discovery Room and Magic World. The aquarium also features a 22m-long (72ft) underwater viewing tunnel.
Polin's engineering team over construction of the aquarium from start to finish. The conceptual design and storyline of the aquarium were finalised by Polin Aquariums' design team.
