Unesco representatives have travelled to Ukraine to asses damage on cultural sites in the city of Chernihiv.
Announced by Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture, the Unesco team is collecting data on damaged sites so that a restoration plan can be prepared.
The damaged sites include the 12th-century Piatnytska Church, St. Anthony's Caves, and the Chernihiv Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater.
Each site has been the target of Russian attacks, with the city’s historic centre named a World Heritage Site in January this year. Many have died and hundreds have been injured in the strikes.
