Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has issued licenses for more than 400 entertainment venues, including 24 theme parks, a report by the Saudi Press Agency has revealed.

Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA) has issued licenses for more than 400 entertainment venues, including 24 theme parks, a report by the Saudi Press Agency has revealed.
The report also found that the GEA has approved permits for more than 4,000 live entertainment events and more than 3,000 permits for live performances in venues such as restaurants and cafés.
The approvals form part of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 plan to diversify its economy, reducing its dependence on oil by developing tourism and entertainment destinations.
The news comes after Saudi Entertainment Ventures (Seven) recently announced an upcoming SAR1bn (US$266.4m, €244.7m, £215.7m) entertainment destination in the city of Tabuk.
