Saudi cruise line Aroya Cruises has released an extensive list of prohibited items ahead of the launch of its first cruise ship later this year.
Passengers have been asked to review the list before embarking, with banned items including CDs, scissors and magazines that ‘violate public decency’, as well as substances that ‘may affect mental health’ and alcohol of any kind.
The state-owned cruise line will predominantly cater to Saudi Arabian and Gulf state nationals and is believed to be the first cruise line to prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages, with other cruise lines prohibiting alcohol while in Saudi ports and waters,
Its first cruise ship, also named Aroya, will embark on its maiden voyage in December 2024, with destinations including Aqaba in Jordan, and Sharm el Sheikh and Ain Sokhna in Egypt.
