The Maine State Aquarium has reopened to the public with a redesigned interior, new exhibits and displays, and an improved visitor experience.
The Aquarium, which closed its doors in 2020 due to the pandemic, has been undergoing updates that included renovations to walls and floors, and upgrades to the pump and filtration systems.
Updates also include new display tanks that will feature a variety of sea life found in the Gulf of Maine and provide an up-close view of animals and plants interacting with each other and the marine environment.
"The revitalisation of the Maine State Aquarium represents a significant milestone for our community,” said State Representative Holly B. Stover.
“This facility not only provides an educational and recreational venue for families and visitors but also reinforces our commitment to marine conservation and education.”
