Pokémon cards meant to be released at the Van Gogh Museum will return to the cultural attraction in February or March after the cards were originally removed from sale as a result of a public riot.
The cards were originally released in September 2023 as part of a collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the Van Gogh Museum that aimed to inspire people with the artworks of Vincent Van Gogh and his contemporaries.
The card will now be re-released after cancelling production, with the museum’s store set to feature “tighter security” following the release.
Alongside this news, at least four employees at the museum have also been suspended, after it was alleged they stole Pokémon cards during the popular exhibition. The card currently is worth around US$100 on eBay.
