Criminal orders have been issued against two Legoland employees, after a rollercoaster crash that injured 29 people.
In August 2022, Legoland Germany’s Feuerdrache (Fire Dragon) ride saw two trains collide when one train braked heavily, causing a second to crash into it.
The Memmingen public prosecutor's office has completed an investigation into the accident, issuing penalty orders against two employees, aged 56 and 34.
According to the prosecutor’s office, two technicians reset a sensor error, which saw a second train collide with a still stationary train on the track. The office said that the technicians could have avoided the accident but added that both defendants are presumed innocent until they are legally convicted. Both must pay a penalty fee amounting to a “a mid or low four-digit amount”.
