Universal has revealed a first official look at Universal Epic Universe, the operator’s highly anticipated fourth theme park in Orlando set to open later this year.
Featuring five immersive worlds, Epic Universe is set to open to the public on May 22nd, 2025, with each world promising groundbreaking experiences as guests discover its secrets.
Guests will begin their journey by passing through the Chronos portal, the gateway to the five immersive worlds of Epic Universe. Aiming to “put the park back in theme park”, the area will feature mythology and astronomy-inspired architecture, with three main attractions including a cosmo inspired carousel ride, a dancing fountain area and the Shooting Comet dual launch coaster where “you race through the sky on a shooting star”.
A new Harry Potter-themed world is among the most anticipated additions, with the “new chapter” of the Wizarding World sure to prove a hit based on the successes of its predecessors.
In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Ministry of Magic, guests will travel from a Muggle park in Paris to the magical Place Cachée, a hidden, bustling shopping district in wizarding Paris. Within Place Cachée, visitors will find dining options like Café L’air De La Sirène, stylish shops such as Les Galeries Mirifiques, and a live theatrical experience, Le Cirque Arcanus.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is the land’s signature attraction. Combining large environments, storytelling and “first-of-its-kind” ride technology Universal says the attraction will be “one of its most impressive attractions to date”, as guests witness the trial of Dolores Umbridge at the British Ministry of Magic.
Super Nintendo World makes its long-awaited Florida debut, with guests entering via Mario’s iconic green pipe and emerging into a land populated by characters such as Mario himself, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, Bowser and Donkey Kong.
The area will feature immersive environments inspired by Nintendo’s iconic games, including the towering Mt. Beanpole. The land will be similar to those already existing in Hollywood and Japan, with a Mario Kart ride and Donkey Kong coaster certain to be among the key highlights of the world.
How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk offers guests a larger-than-life experience inspired by the popular film series. In the themed land, visitors can explore a vast lagoon, admire giant Viking statues, and explore a village “perched above churning seas”. Attractions include Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a dragon flight simulation, and Fyre Drill, a competitive, action-packed experience. Guests can also take photos with Toothless, the beloved dragon.
Breathing new life into Universal’s classic monster family, Dark Universe sees guests come across “everything from the experiments of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein to the shadowy landscape where monsters roam in a world of myth and mystery.”
In the themed land, guests will enter the mysterious village of Darkmoor, home to Universal’s legendary monsters, including Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, and The Wolf Man. The world’s main attraction, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, takes guests deep into Frankenstein Manor’s catacombs, where they’ll face a terrifying array of enraged monsters.
“This is such a pivotal moment for our destination, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests to Epic Universe next year,” said Karen Irwin, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort.
“With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week’s worth of thrills that will be nothing short of epic!”
