PoMo will thoughtfully transform a former Art Nouveau Post Office building into a cultural destination for the city. It will be the first museum project led by interior designer India Mahdavi, working in collaboration with Norwegian architect Erik Langdalen.
The museum will form the centre of the city’s cultural quarter in the heart of Trondheim and opens with a group exhibition titled Postcards From The Future on the 15th February 2025.
Set over five floors, PoMo will incorporate exhibition space, a welcoming public meeting and events space, and a library and reading area that references traditional Norwegian folk art and woodwork. The PoMo Collection aims to create a ‘new normal’ for contemporary Norwegian institutions, dedicating 60% of its acquisitions budget to women artists to address inequalities in museum collections.
