Gold Rush offers multi-directional journey as rollercoaster opens at Drayton Manor

Drayton Manor has opened a UK first, with the all-new Gold Rush coaster offering “two unique multi-directional experiences”, meaning that riders don’t know which route they will take once seated.

Drayton Manor has opened a UK first, with the all-new Gold Rush coaster offering “two unique multi-directional experiences”, meaning that riders don’t know which route they will take once seated.

Manufactured by Intamin, the ride is part of a multimillion-pound investment plan under the park’s new owners, Looping Group, with Gold Rush the signature attraction for Frontier Falls - the park’s new Wild West-themed land, which opened in March.

Featuring just a one-metre height requirement, the family-friendly ride features a tire-propelled boost, as well as both forward and backward sections, though the journey changes each time with riders not knowing which course the coaster will take.
