The Disney Cruise Line has shared new details about its upcoming island destination Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, the tropical retreat in the Bahamas promising to bring the magic when it opens to guests this June.
Newly released images show construction steaming ahead on the destination's colourful cabanas, as well as the seashell-style architecture designed by Walt Disney Imagineering.
The retreat is inspired by Junkanoo - a Bahamian tradition celebrating the country’s unique culture - and offers beautiful beaches combined with Disney-themed activities for all the family.
Among its attractions, Lighthouse Point will feature a family-friendly water play area with slides, water drums and fountains, and a splash pad based on The Little Mermaid IP.
“Both as a Bahamian and Disney Cruise Line cast member, I’m excited for our guests from around the world to visit Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point to explore Eleuthera and join us in celebrating the rich Bahamian culture that makes our country unique,” said Joey Gaskins Jr, regional director of Public Affairs, The Bahamas and Caribbean for Disney Cruise Line.
