AV specialist Christie has partnered with Illuminarium Experiences and Secret Location to supply projectors and maintenance support to a new immersive attraction in Toronto, Canada.
Called Illuminarium at The Distillery District, the attraction occupies 13,500sq ft (1,207sq m) and features nearly 30 of Christie’s RGB pure laser projectors.
Designed to place visitors inside the story, the attraction allows guests to “see, hear, feel and affect the space around them.”
It features two immersive shows ‘Waking Wonderland’ and ‘SPACE: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond’, the first of which takes visitors through multiple projection-mapped environments and includes more than 30 unique interactions. ‘SPACE: A Journey to the Moon and Beyond,’ meanwhile, uses images from the James Webb Space Telescope and 360-degree screens to take guests on a journey through the solar system.
Six M 4K25 RGB pure laser projectors help to set the stage for guests as they enter, lighting up the pre-show area with a combined 150,000 lumens, while 20 Griffyn 4K35-RGB pure laser projectors are installed in the main space.
“Illuminarium at The Distillery District has created an unforgettable experience by combining our leading RGB pure laser projection solutions with innovative content,” said Joseph Conover, Christie’s director of Immersive Entertainment/Live Events Americas.
