Airsoft skirmishing, the sport in question, involves participants eliminating opponents by striking each other with spherical non-metallic pellets fired from replica firearms known as airsoft guns. Unlike laser-based games or paintball, this game operates on an honour system, with players encouraged to exit the game once hit, given that the lightweight pellets do not leave a mark like a paintball.

The skirmish typically features two opposing teams (such as a red and yellow team) who are assigned a task to complete. This could range from a simple objective like capturing the opponents' flag to a more intricate mission such as locating and securing a downed pilot, then escorting him back to your base while warding off around fifty opposing team members, all within a 30-minute game time.
